born to jean-luc and marguerite on a blistering summer day in new orleans. beau was supposed to be, as
envisioned by his parents, one of many children they planned to have. not exactly a 'happy' home setting
but they had big dreams for their children and the hope that they would find a way out of the lifestyle
they were born into. they figured, at least, a one in three chance would give them better odds than just
one. jean-luc and marguerite honestly had the hopes of their children's successes being something they
could ride the coattails off of.

due to jean-luc's perchance of getting caught mid-robberies and car thefts, he spent the majority of
time in jail while marguerite's much more dangerous habits of drug-use did not make her a suitable
mother, beau spent a majority of his time being claimed by the state -- his parents 'cleaning up their
acts' just for enough time to bring him back to their home before rinse and repeat. every time he was
granted visitation with them it was more or less a test of getting his hopes up just in enough time for
them to let him down the next wave of arrests and child services visitations.

he was eight by the time his mother passed away from an overdose and due to the fact that jean-luc was
in prison (again) with no family around that wanted to claim him, he was sent back into the public
system -- occasionally being brought by to visit his dad by his foster parents who seemed more than
happy to deal with the boy's demands of seeing his father. despite the constant let-downs, beau always
lived in the belief that his parents would change. when his dad was released the third time in the
timespan of his son's life, getting beau back was more of a task than before.

beau was sent to live with a more 'permanent' foster family where he ended up finally connecting to the
people he lived with, eventually feeling open enough to call their biological son -- julian, his
brother. the pair grew up together in the home, not really seeing this as a temporary situation as he
usually did, beau's interest in reconnecting with jean-luc began to dwindle. visitations became fewer
and he became focused on other things rather than false hopes and broken promises.

adjusting to high school was difficult for him, tempted with the idea of dropping out the first
opportunity he had. beau settled in by breezing by and causing trouble when he could. at the age of
sixteen he had a juvenile record and barely limping through his academics, it wasn't beau that fell in
with jean-luc but julian who got caught into a small crew that had been building in the city. beau just,
naturally, followed what his brother was doing in this case mostly weary of what his father was doing.

what started out as fun and contributed to many of his slight of hand skills later on in life ended in
tragedy at the end. while beau was attempting to maybe graduate high school, julian was involved in a
high speed car chase that ended up with him dying. blaming himself for the incident, beau confronted his
father and ended any sort of contact that he would have with him. blaming only himself for julian's
                death.

julian's death caused a ripple in beau's life. the strain of the death caused of a rift between beau and
his foster family to the point where by the end of his term in high school he was living in a group home
ran by the state. never truly revisiting the family he'd grown up with, beau barely managed to scrap by
through the end of high school before he was booted out of the group home and given hardly any options.
surviving merely by hustling or odd jobs here and there, beau eventually got picked up by an army
recruiter rather than listening to jean-luc's pleas to return home with him.

enlisting in the army with a criminal record like his was difficult at first, but the recruiter he had
turned into something of a 'father figure' of his, assisting him along the way to make sure that the kid
from the streets didn't turn out to be like the family he had come from. it would all turn into a big
letdown later on, beau came out of basic training dazed and confused -- spending a majority of his time
wondering if this was the right path for him. but he felt included, that seemed to be the big part of
it. after his first tour, beau had a falling out with the idea of being in the military. keeping to his
contract, he spent the majority of the next four years committing petty crimes as a way to scrap by.

it wasn't that he wasn't built to be in the military, it was that he couldn't handle not being able to
                assist his brothers.

for the next several years, he flew under the radar until it was certain he wasn't going to be pulled
back into a tour, beau's petty crimes ended up graduating to stealing cars and cons. he got arrested for
the first time for car theft just on the louisiana-mississippi border, spending the next couple years in
prison. cons became more of a safer way to go with a bigger payday.

eventually it led beau into the 'lonely hearts club', widows with a heavy heart and deep pockets.
charming his way into their lives, beau found himself spending quite a lot of time with his cons,
eventually marrying two before their inevitable passing though it just meant that their 'husband' would
be there to collect a check or belongings, beau skated past through life before eventually finding
himself in the worst con of all, falling in love.

for the time that he was involved with her, it was the first time he felt as though he could go
straight...or straighter than he had been before. he envisioned a life outside of the one he was living
but she had other ideas, disappearing and living the engagement ring he had given her.

trust became, once again, an issue with him as a promise was once again said but yet again broken. beau
didn't return to the long-cons as much as he returned to stealing cars and robberies, finding himself
leaving the louisiana area for good to roam around the states before eventually landing on san
                francisco.
